Flashback?

Flashback is a new system aimed at reducing the number of lost flash drives. It is currently an experimental system undergoing testing, it is now entering the public "beta" test period in which you will be able to download flashback and use it in a live environment. You will then have the opportunity to report back to us on any bug, faults or ideas you have so we can improve it for the final version. Flashback is and will always be free, because we believe that the best things in life are free.

How Does It Work?

Flashback is installed on your flash drive (it's a very small program and won't take up any noticeable space), every time you open your flash drive it checks to see if it is 'lost'. If it is lost the system will display your name and a return address. You can mark a drive as lost by visiting the website and clicking "mark as lost" I should stress that it does not disable the drive and that it relies on the finder of the drive being trustworthy.

Where do I get it?

Visit Flashback's website by clicking here then click "Get Flashback" There are also tutorials on how to correctly register your drives too. (Make sure you follow them - otherwise you might not set it up correctly!) Its quick, easy and a 'do it and forget it' application (just dont forget your username and password!)
